If you had to describe your music/style in a sentence, what would you say?
A soulful, honest vibe with a sprinkle of hip hop.

Have you always wanted to create music?
Yes – ever since being a little kid when I’d be singing Michael Jackson and Backstreet Boys around the house. I actually ended up stopping music to chase basketball for a few years, but I knew I’d find my way back.

Can you pinpoint a piece of music that initially inspired you?
It’s hard to pinpoint a specific piece, but every time I go to a concert I come away feeling inspired, like I need to be on that stage. One of my old shows back in 2014, supporting Dappy, was inspiring in particular. The crowd was crazy that night.

Do you have a favourite song or piece of music to perform?
Back in my hip hop days as 4Tune I used to have a song called Shut Ya Mouth which I loved performing because of the energy and crowd interaction. Now I just can’t wait to perform all songs off the new Seasons EP.

What do you think is the overriding influence on your songwriting: other art, emotions, current affairs – or a mixture of all of these?
Literally a mix of all three, I try and draw as much inspiration from my experiences and those around me.

If you could support any artist in the future, who would it be?
There are too many to name – obviously huge stars like Drake and Rihanna. But I’d personally love to do like a Liverpool type show, so pretty much all of Liverpool’s best on one show. People like MiC Lowry, Tayá, Aystar, etc.

Why is music important to you?
I could go on all day about this, but I don’t think we’ve got the time. It’s my passion, it gets rid of a lot of stress… I’d probably go crazy without it!

Can you recommend an artist, band or album that Bido Lito! readers might not have heard?
You guys probably already heard of these people but Remée – who features on my EP Seasons – is one of the most talented singers we have in the city. Also shouts to my boy from school days MC Nelson, who’s coming up in the hip hop scene. But literally in terms of Liverpool there’s so many names to mention, the scene is stronger than ever at the moment.

Seasons is out now.
