Back for its second year, On Record festival returns to celebrate and explore Black music on Merseyside with a multifaceted programme spanning three weeks.
Launching on Sunday 24th October, On Record features live gigs, radio shows, documentaries and more for an engaging and thought-provoking programme.
Kicking off at 24 Kitchen Street with Clash x On Record, Black music titans will go head-to-head across the turntables with house, dancehall, garage and RnB DJs taking each other on for the title of Clash x On Record champion.
Elsewhere, a documentary screening at District on 4th November will explore the Liverpool ONE Project and ask questions around why members of the Black music community, at the top of their game a decade ago, feel the opportunities were not there for them in Liverpool.
Over at Tate Liverpool, the Grime > Punk event on 6th November will host discussions, live music, art, photography and fashion workshops to investigate which genre has being more impactful on culture.
There is also a LIMF Academy presents radio show on Melodic Distraction featuring performances from REMÉE, PODGE and NI MAXINE, podcasts taking a deep dive in various Black music topics, a Black Nights Music trail with Curtis Watt and the official launch of the first Liverpool City Region Black music action group.
