The six-piece REMY JUDE ENSEMBLE may be new on the scene, but they are by no means newbies; this is an alt-funk-jazz super-group, encompassing already established musicians in an effervescent commingling of talent. Made up of Remy Jude’s acerbic bars, Amber Kuti’s effortlessly powerful voice – and virtuosos Sam Jones, Max O’Hara, Simon Dale and Conor O’Shea on drums, keys, guitar and bass respectively – this is a collective of supreme talent with smoothness oozing through their veins.
In conjunction with Niloo Sharifi‘s interview with the six-piece in Issue 95 of Bido Lito!, we’re delighted to be able to present this visual feast in conjunction with Leech Video. Live At The Aerie is a visual EP in four parts, filmed at Anti Social Jazz Club’s Aerie in October 2018. This is the group’s first release, and if they continue at this rate there won’t be much that Liverpool’s nascent jazz/hip hop scene will be able to do to contain them.
Feast your eyes, your ears and your mind.
