ASTLES has released a track with a chorus that matches the soaring trajectory of the Liverpool singer songwriter’s ambition with new track Grey Skies.
Recorded with Fresh Goods studio’s Matt Freeman, the single signals a further progression for the musician who announced himself in early 2017 with the EP Live At The Nordic. Continuing the bold sonic exploration made with Freeman on last years Full Of Wonder collection, Grey Skies features a barnstorming chorus, tender lyrics and captivating melody which have become hallmarks of the Merseyrail Sound Station artist.
Talking of the track, Astles reveals: “It’s about the ups and downs you face in life and making sense of them all, sometimes it feels like the rain won’t ever stop but it does. I’ve learnt to try and make the best of myself during these low points.”
Catch Astles play live as part of the first of the By The Fire series of gigs at Jacaranda Records Phase One on 8th December.
