Merseyrail Sound Station have announced the 10 artists who have made it to the final of the 2017 prize. The train station-based festival will this year take place at Liverpool Central, moved from its traditional home of Moorfields, to celebrate five years of the competition.
The finalists represent a broad range of genres and offer a fantastic reflection on the quality and diversity currently at play in Merseyside’s grassroots music scene. Hoping to impress a panel of music industry judges will be: LIMERANCE, JOSEPH MOTT, TABITHA JADE, BLACK PULP, LUNA, 50FT WARRIOR, NICOLA HARDMAN, JACK MCALLISTER, KINGFAST and ANDY SHORT.
The eventual winner will go away with a years free train travel, music industry mentoring and studio time. Previous winners include Katy Alex and Blue Saint with last years victor Astles having a productive year in 2017, releasing two EPs and playing festivals across the region and gigs further afield.
Representatives from Bido Lito!, Getintothis, Sentric Music, Modern Sky/Sound City and Pirate Studios will form the judging panel who will look to be sufficiently impressed with a band or artist who show the most potential and use the prize to maximum effect.
The Merseyrail Sound Station Festival takes place at Liverpool Central Station on Saturday 11th November from 1pm.
