Saturday Daily Magazine - Out Now!
Ahead of tonight's third day of action at Liverpool Sound City 2012, have a read of our third daily edition featuring GHOSTPOET; having released his debut album Peanut Butter Blues and Melancholy Jam last February the singer songwriter has gone from the minimal set-up of his bedroom to some of the biggest stages in Europe and will performing in The Kazimier tonight. After years of steady progress and a growing fanbase, THE WEDDING PRESENT gategrashed the mainstream in the early nineties and are back tonight for their Liverpool engagement at The Zanzibar for a re-birth performance. Thrown into the mix, powerpop band BLEACHED have been whipping up a storm on recent tours with Smith Westerns, Black Belles and Veronica Falls and will be sharing their sounds at Wolstenholme Creative Space.
Plus, don't miss the man behind D/R/U/G/S who will be taking to the decks at Red Bull Studios Live @ The Garage to close out the festival with his unique brand of mild mannered, chill-wave tech house. If that wasn't enough, there's plenty of choice for closing parties tonight, with the festival receiving a well-deserved send off from midnight. The Liverpool Academy of Arts will be providing a music/circus amalgamation that is SLAMBOREE, bringing together a 10-piece live band with daredevil performers to mark a stunning end to the festival.
As well as Saturday’s listings, news and previews, our jam-packed reviews section casts an eye over Friday night's action. CLOCK OPERA, CHARLI XCX, THE TEMPER TRAP, JONQUIL, ELEANOR FRIEDBERGER, LOWER THAN ATLANTIS, EUGENE MCGUINNESS and MICHAEL KIWANUKA, alongside WET NUNS, BIRD, SALEM RAGES and loads more.
