We love SUN DRUMS, ever since we listened their EP of hazy filled electronica, we felt it was a leap beyond the many soul-less 'machine manufactured' music which has been doing the rounds for God knows how long. This felt a bit like lying on a beach on the planet Mars - warm yet spacey if you know where I'm coming from. It feels real, more organic and more to the point right up our street.

We are also very happy to make this a double bill with Luxembourg's Victor Ferreira aka SUN GLITTERS, but he makes some fine music and has embarked on projects and remixes with the links of White Denim, Blackbird Blackbird and Purity Ring.

The setting of Leaf and its many hanging mirror balls is the perfect setting for letting the warm beats and vibes wash over you.

It's all worked out nice again.

SUN DRUMS

Self produced in the band’s hometown of Liverpool, their self-titled EP is eclipsed by a haunting sense of the unknown through ghostly two-step and swathes of euphoric energy. Each of the five tracks here are underscored by distant falsetto, while submerged synthwave shimmers provide a superb spectral surround. Imagine Burial, Hype Williams or Caribou tracks remade with a leaning towards the melancholic yet uplifting indie music of Puressence or Mercury Rev.

Sun Glitters sound is an ocean of lush melodies, pitch-shifted vocal samples, ghostly digi-diva choirs, warm bass melodies driven by alternately dense and relaxing beatwork combinations between downtempo and wonky beats.
