SLIDE RULES is a two trombone fronted jazz quintet, formed in tribute to the music of the great J.J. Johnson & Kai Winding’s famous 1950's & ’60’s recordings with Bill Evans, Paul Chambers, Roy Haynes and others. Playing direct transcriptions of J.J. & Kai’s famous ‘Blue Note era works, the band features two talented professional trombonists, each based in the North Midlands – LEE HALLAM & BRIAN ARCHER.
