Silent Sleep is a vehicle for the music of singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist , Chris McIntosh, who fronted successful Liverpool band 28 Costumes. Silent Sleep began in 2010 when Chris removed himself from Liverpool and placed himself in Berlin where he spent the next two years. Whilst there, Chris wrote a handful of bleak but lyrically suave songs that would go on to become his debut album and he performed them live, alone, in the dark and dank basement bars of Berlin (as well as a couple of gigs in kindergartens, playing these bleak and dark songs to handfuls of grinning children). Upon returning to Liverpool, Chris rallied together a bunch of his best friends who all agreed to lend a hand and help Chris to play the songs live. Incorporating trumpets, violins and flutes as well as guitar, bass and drums and a whole world of harmony, the live show is an experience that will break your heart and warm your heart in equal measures.
"It's not many performers who can break off mid-song, announce they've lost their plectrum, have a good rummage in their pockets and then roll back into the song as though nothing had happened - the audience grinning ear to ear throughout." Peter Guy's Get Into This, Liverpool Echo
