Liverpool Acoustic presents a special extra gig featuring Californian musician Rick Shea, with support from The Good Intentions.
RICK SHEA
http://rickshea.net/
Long time southern California singer/songwriter Rick Shea cut his teeth in the bars and Honky Tonks of San Bernardino where he grew up and has gone on to build a solid career with seven critically acclaimed albums and performances all over Southern California, the U.S. and Europe. Equally at home with an acoustic guitar or with his worn old Telecaster Shea’s songs embrace everything from the traditional folk and country music of California he grew up with to Norteño and border rock.
“Staunchly independent...represents the best of California music,”
LA Weekly.
"Shea is to interior California what Joe Ely is to West Texas; his music evokes deep Kern, San Bernardino and Riverside counties the way Ely nailed down Laredo, two pinches of old Mexico, a blast of exhaust from the boss man's new Suburban and a baseline of working stiff desperation…and the best goddamn country voice since Merle hisself. **** Four stars!

The Good Intentions
http://thegoodintentions.co.uk/
Formed in 2003, the award-winning The Good Intentions are R. Peter Davies, Gabrielle Monk, and Fransesco Roskell. The band's music is based around acoustic instrumental and three part harmony sounds, playing Alt Country, Americana, and Bluegrass, with all songs on their debut album, and their newly released second album Someone Else's Time, being written by Peter.
In the last two years The Good Intentions have moved from smaller venues in the north of England to playing music festivals in the UK, as well as touring The Netherlands and the USA.
In October 2011 The Good Intentions won Americana Act of the Year at the British Country Music Awards - a real testimony to their professional musicianship and well-crafted songs.
Doors open at 8pm and the music runs from 8.30pm to just after 11pm. Unfortunately there is no disabled access as the venue is on the third floor of the gallery. There is a full bar, and it's an over 14 event.
Tickets are £5 in advance and £6 on the door.
