The Hideout, Brooklyn Mixer, 78 Seel Street
Saturday 9 March – 9PM – TILL LATE – FREE ENTRY

In our first collaboration with Brooklyn Mixer’s Hideout bar, we are proud to announce of of the UK’s most exciting new R&B producers with two of Liverpool’s finest new electronic acts. Hailing from New Cross, London is PALMISTRY, creating the perfect mournful soundscape to urban living under the neon glow of Chinatown. Palmistry is currently best known for producing Cantonese rapper Triad God, who took the experimental electronic scene by storm last year with NXB, however his two EPs ‘I Swear’ and ‘Cut’ showed that he could make solo music that rivalled his collaborator. Palmistry’s music sweats London, not felt before since the rise in UKG in the early 2000s, with melodramatic strings interwoven with two-step beats, breathy vocals and intimidating bass lines bubbling underneath. If you’re looking for a more human face to the works of Burial and Holy Other, Palmistry provides a decidedly British impression of romantic alienation.

Supporting Palmistry is an enigmatic new producer under the name TOMASU. Having performed his first ever live set for Deep Hedonia’s ARK series in December we are proud to invite him back for this show, providing atmospheric downtempo dub perfect for this show. Tomasu first gained attention from Liverpool’s music scene with his lush remixing of Bird’s ‘Monsters’, Tomasu’s sound can be best described as taking the murkiness from Holy Other and injecting it with a chopped and screwed deep house ecstasy.

Deep Hedonia’s own ACROBAT will be finishing off the evening with his brand of improvised deep house, having wowed audiences supporting Jam City, Labyrinth Ear, Heatsick and is currently tipped for bigger things this year within Liverpool’s burgeoning electronic scene.
