-------------------------------
Having disappeared from view a little over recent months we can announce the return of the mercurial Loved Ones to our minds and ears, as they gear up for the release of their debut album. The quartet have been busy crafting this much-anticipated record, and the first slice we are likely to hear of it is their first single release Weekends Are Ours. The brooding, melancholic cut is also the first release from new independent Liverpool label Witchfinder Records, and will be out in November on 7" vinyl with special artwork designed by John Biddle. Accompnaying this will be a video shot on location in Lebanon by filmmaker Ian Gamester. Evidently Loved Ones have not been idle in their absence, also contributing remixes for Dan Croll, White Belt Yellow Tag, Vasco Da Gama and Death At Sea. It's good to have them back.
Joining Loved Ones on 3rd November at Leaf for their single launch will be Pale Seas. Pale Seas operate in the same realm of superbly-crafted avant-pop songs that Loved Ones have made their own, and this four-piece from Southampton will be the perfect accompaniment to the evening. A blend of Americana folk and wide-eyed, lush cinematics places them somewhere between Galxie 500 and Beach House. There's a subtle grandeur to their sound which has been brought out by producer/engineer combo Jimmy Robertson and Demian Castellanos (Anna Calvi, The Big Pink), highlighted perfectly by the rich textures of recent single Bodies, released on Communion Records.
The brains behind Witchfinder Records will be manning the decks on the night, and more support acts will be announced soon. Advance tickets for this event are priced at £5 and are exclusively available HERE from bidolito.co.uk - get them now because there are only a limited number available.
+ PLUS - if you get your ticket for this event through bidolito.co.uk during October then you will receive a free download of Bido Lito!'s exclusive New Noise Compilation, featuring the cutting-edge sounds coming out of the city right now. One of the tracks on there is an exclusive track from Loved Ones, which might not make the final cut of the album, so this si the only place you will be able to get it...
