In association with Camp and Furnace’s Pårk weekender Deep Hedonia and LMW are proud to announce 12 hours of great music to accompany the day. The proceedings start with a new solo project from Tom Cowcher of Sun Drums dubbed BELUGA, using his powerful voice as the main source, creating intricate and intimate looped patterns. PATTERNS IN THE IVY are an exciting new ambient electronic act, taking inspiration equally from 4AD dream pop, trip-hop and otherworldly vocal melodies. SING FOR YOUR SUPPER are already a favourite amongst Deep Hedonia, having performed with Emperor X in June, this time they’ll be returning as a full band, bringing their glistening jazz-folk tunes to wrap up the daytime programming.
The evening part of Pårk will be accompanied by a debut of Deep Hedonia’s ACROBAT project. Two thirds of the team will be exploring improvised house music along with an experimental visual element. Adam Rowley, by day a sound designer for various games publishers also creates music under the name of AFTERNAUT, creating massive futuristic electronica, inspired by sci-fi soundtracks and hazy electronica in equal amounts.
The first of a double headliner is patten, who released his wonderfully schizophrenic record Glaqjo Xaacsso in 2011, earning plaudits from Drownedinsound, Fact Magazine and Resident Advisor. Patten’s dizzying production skills both look to the past in ambient glitch like Boards of Canada as well as keeping an eye out on the future, with a kaleidoscopic array of textures filtering through both the sub-bass and in the tweeters.
Night Slugs’ hottest property JAM CITY has been making huge waves on both sides of the Atlantic having unleashed Classical Curves earlier this year. described by Dummy Magazine as ‘stretching club as far as it can go’, Jam City’s taught rhythms, frenzied synths snaps and continual turnover of hyper-animated ideas makes producer Jack Latham one of the hottest new producers in the world.
Spinning music between bands will be Deep Hedonia themselves, and to round off the night Andrew Ellis aka SAMIZDAT will be let loose with his mix of crowd pleasers and more obscure house and post-punk.
