'Simple, unpretentious, and, dare I say it, heartwarming folky pop’
NME (on Pele, 1992)
Marking the release of Does this train stop on Merseyside: The Very Best of Ian Prowse, Pele and Amsterdam in April, we welcome The Irish Sea Sessions band member and pop songsmith Ian Prowse back to the After 8 stage for what he says is one of his favourite regular fixtures.
His ‘Best Of’ features duets with Elvis Costello and Christy Moore and this extra special acoustic show will showcase tunes spanning his oeuvre from 1991 to 2012 and possibly some of the stories behind them.
What is After 8?
After Eight is the Liverpool Philharmonic’s popular series of select folk, roots, and unplugged gigs in the Rodewald Suite, a delightfully intimate space with its own entrance in Sugnall Street. With informal cabaret seating, an in-house bar, rooftop terrace and the opportunity to meet the artists and other guests after the performance, After 8 shows are a unique experience and a great night out.
Doors open at 8pm, artist will start performance at approximately 8:30pm.
