In conjunction with Liverpool Light House SOUL INSPIRED EVENTS are proud to present the legendary Jazz/Soul Saxophonist Kirk Whalum & singer/musician John Stoddart for one night only at the Liverpool Lighthouse.
For those not familiar with these artists, please check their Bios below.
Soulful, passionate, stirring...these are the words most often used to describe Kirk's music. Forged from his Memphis, (TN) gospel roots and his 1980's initiation into the thriving Houston, TX nightclub scene, Kirk's big, rich tenor sound is unmistakably his.
Kirk later became an in demand session player for top artists like, Barbara Streisand, Al Jarreau, Luther Vandross, Larry Carlton, Quincy Jones and most notably, Whitney Houston, amongst many others. It's his sax heard on the mega-hit, "I Will Always Love You."
An eleven time Grammy nominee, Kirk won his first Grammy award for Best Gospel Song ("It's What I Do"-featuring Lalah Hathaway) alongside life-long friend and gifted writer, Jerry Peters.
His latest release (on Mack Ave. Records) is perhaps his most ambitious to date. On Romance Language Kirk pays homage to the much revered 1963 ballads album, John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman.
In a career spanning decades, Kirk has a sound that is uniquely his; it is a sound that leaves an indelible imprint on the listener.
Celine Dion. Al Jarreau. Will Downing. Take 6. Patti Austin. Michael McDonald. Philadelphia native John Stoddart has either written for, sung with, played for or helped produce each of these great artists. And they are just a few of the names that pepper John's musical resume.
"In my 30-year career, there is not one musician in whom I have more confidence, for whom I have more respect, with whom I have traveled more miles and negotiated more musical and life challenges than John Stoddart," says two-time Stellar award-winning saxophonist Kirk Whalum.
John's list of fans and supporters will only grow thanks to his latest release, Faith Hope Love, a soulful collection of inspirational love songs that speak to the challenges and
triumphs of marriage.

Enter, solo artist, Esco Williams, the self professed "Soul Powered Nerd" is the ever changing dynamic vocalist/Singer/Songwriter, whose evocative voice hits erogenous tones with skilful mastery and playful exuberance.
Esco's vocals dig deep into the souls of listeners providing a rich R'n'b/Soul experience from a different perspective.Since creeping into music at 17years old, the mild mannered Liverpool geek has made a lot of noise.
Be it as part of the Sense of Sound Choir, being play listed on BBC Radio 1Xtra, FLAVA and AKA TV, Performing with such artists as the Hip-Hop legend, The RZA, the conscious DEAD PREZ or touring with Smooth Jazz icon Brian Culbertson. Esco's pulsating form and captivating presence is reminiscent of Aloe Blacc, Al Green, Music Soulchild and Cee-Lo Green, yet his energy and performance is that of a rock star with maximum swagger. Look out for the fan funded album 'New Challenger', coming soon.
