CAVE BIRDS

CAVE BIRDS

£5 entry

The Last Supper Club@The Zanzibar proudly welcomes the fantastic Cave Birds plus Special Guests for the first Last Supper Club of 2012.

CAVE BIRDS

Caves. Natural habitats for reclusive behaviour. Rare species. Secret projects. Night visionaries.

When I think of Cave Birds and the series of noir-pop songs that have surreptitiously leaked out of Leeds over the past few months under that name, I think of the great anti-social artisans of songwriting; Syd Barrett, Talk Talk, Kate Bush... Not just the songs, but every detail of the production, like Brian Wilson with the all the sunshine and pastoralism sucked out and and a vile of danger injected.

And then you hear Some Lightning Thrill, a tale of devastating love. Is it a far reaching call-to-arms or a deep echoing cry for help? All I know is it’s a big song, bursting with pain and passion, not something you can stash under the floorboards. Sometimes secrets need to be shared."

- Leagues O' Toole, Foggy Notions, 2011

"This is abstract, noir-pop at its most scintillating."
- Croon.co.uk

"Big, bold pop songs just waiting to be unleashed to the unsuspecting masses."
- This is Fake DIY

"Haunting... powerful and insidious" - There Goes The Fear
