Tone Puppets

Once described as '...full of Eastern promise and Northern grit...', Tone Puppets are an Alternative Rock band from Liverpool.

Having released two singles, 'Ignore' and 'Late Nights', Tone Puppets have recently finished recording their latest single, 'Captain Spacecat'. Final touches are being made with a view to a release in the coming months.

Having played an acoustic session on BBC Radio Merseyside's Dave Monks show, the band have a busy autumn schedule. Firstly, they are off to Germany to play the Schweinskopf-Festival, then back to Liverpool to play a support slot for Captain Beefheart's Magic Band.

Tone Puppets are booked to play Dave Monks' BBC Introducing night in the Krazy House at the end of October with a trip to London booked soon after.

Black Lights

This band from Manchester are being backed by a lot of people in the know and rightly so, it’s only a matter of time before they are a household name across the country.

Previously a three piece comprising of guitar, keyboards and vocals, the band have now added a full time drummer to their ranks. Their music connects with the listener in a way that has been described as close to Elbow and the comparison is certainly justified with their emotionally uplifting material.

Backing is coming from plenty of sources include Key 103, BBC Radio, NME, MEN amongst others.

‘Effortlessly, Jaime McCool opens his heart and soul on every track; not with theatrics or screams, but with a sense that every note he gives you is a gift. If Jeff Buckley had been Mancunian, he would of sounded like this’. - John McCready (Word magazine/NME)

The Fifth Movement

Having been through many different guises The Fifth Movement are definitely a band that know their craft to top professional degree. They have expanded their sound, blending elements of film score, world music and acoustic rock.

The band can quite easily adapt from five members to ten when performing and have performed with 22 members in the past. Having played at stole the show at 'Chester Rocks' this year, according to Radio City, the band have also had the pleasure of supporting James Walsh (Starsailor), Seth Lakeman, Mark Morriss (Bluetones), Mica Paris, Ian McNabb and Amsterdam.

Book Thieves

Book Thieves are a 4-piece indie-rock band who blend dirty riffs, catchy melodies and raw energy, ensuring that every sound resonates with the listener.

Book Thieves have performed at a number of high profile events, including the internationally renowned Mathew Street Festival. They have also enjoyed continuous radio play throughout Europe and across the pond.

Iktsurapok

Iktsuarpok are a vibrant two piece outfit producing powerful and melodic songs with edginess and flare.

Their rabble-rousing sound of agitated pop and memorable guitar hooks are easy to take in but hard to forget along with the electronically engaged Alternative pop sound which has elements of indie as well as throwbacks to the 70’s & 80’s.

Often described to be in and around the same camp as Darwin Deez, Intepol, King Charles, Killers the band are enjoying backing from BBC Radio Merseyside.

Dark Stares

Dark Stares are a British alternative rock band from St Albans. Set to officially release their debut EP 'Tell Your Friends' across all platforms in September 2012.

An opening slot with Enter Shikari at The Forum in Hertfordshire are among their live highlights to date, as well as performing as the sole support to The Darkness for their intimate comeback show at the prestigious 100 Club on Oxford Street.

Having shared the stage with the likes of Fun Lovin’ Criminals and The Subways, Dark Stares have been compared as equal parts of The Killers and Muse.

Ste Neild

Well known on the acoustic circuit Ste Neild is a singer songwriter who doesn't perform your conventional folk music associated with acoustic performers, yet more of an power pop driven affair.

Returning to open up The Lovely Job 'Neildsy' commands a connection with his audience through his positive endearing energy and banter.
