Percy Gullivers take over The Shipping Forecast

Screenadelica's PERCY GULLIVERS PRINT SHOP AND SOCIAL celebrates its grand opening this weekend by welcoming all and sundry in to their new home on the first floor of The Shipping Forecast for a whopping great FREE party extravaganza with loads of great music. Horse's acclaimed gig poster exhibition has been busy globe-trotting latley, rocking up in Bestival, Primavera,Kendal Calling among others, as well as hosting a psych special exhibition at last week's Liverpool International Festival Of Psychedelia (in 3D!) As such Mr Horse and his Screenadelica chums have not had the time to invite us to their new home, a gallery and social space, for a proper housewarming shindig: but fear no more, as this Saturday sees them throw open the doors and invite you inside for three floors of aural and visual titillation at The Shipping Forecast. Be not afraid.

Hawk Eyes // Drowned in Sound: "It’s hard to see many albums topping Ideas this year for all-out power and intelligent aggression. It showcases a band realising their potential and expanding their sound across a number of different paths, but without losing any of the unwavering ferocity that made them such a potent force to begin with. In fact, were Ideas to convey only one message, it would be this: riffmageddon 2012 is here and Hawk Eyes are at the helm. You’d be well advised to get on board."

Humanfly // Huge, dark, atmospheric riff warlocks. Weaving all out brutal aggression with subtle melodic textures.

Jazzhands // The Bastard Child and House band of Screenadelica, let Jazzhands take you on an adventure, a no holds barred, visual assault of an adventure! Imagine Lightening Bolt vs Frank Zappa!

Avenging Force // A rare outing for this Liverpool three-piece who deal in full throttle rock. A band who only went and recorded their debut album with a certain Steve Albini. This is balls out, non nonsense rock: loud, hard, fast and sweaty.

Serious Sam Barrett // Serious Sam is a firm favourite on the Liverpool scene, catch him play a set in the gallery setting of Percy Gullivers mezzanine floor.

PLUS - on this level you will also be able to peruse the Psych Fest Special exhibition, which will be in situ for two weeks. All prints are available to buy, and Percy Gullivers will regularly be holding poster exhbitions in this space, so drop by and check out some of the best artwork around.
