Day 2 - Festive LECKY LUNAR treat!
We are delighted to announce an exclusive post on the Bido Lito! Advent Calendar, in the form of the second of our monthly Lecky Lunar Sessions, a collaboration between Freakbeat Films and Mick Chrysalid and R Keith, and which is now being screened on Bido TV. Each month, we invite a Liverpool artist on to the couch to undergo Mick’s cross-examination and to perform two songs live in the studio. This month features the doomtronica necromancers LOVECRAFT, all seven of them (or are there eight?) cramming themselves in to the studio to perform two live songs, Elevenses and Proxy. The former is taken from their debut LP Whistle And I'll Come To You, My Lad, which was released on Probe Plus in May, and was featured in Issue 14 of Bido Lito!. Vocalist Craig joins Mick on the couch to talk about various things, including plans to follow up this album with an EP early next year. Craig and Mick also go on to discuss Lovecraft's recent and upcoming tours with Half Man Half Biscuit (who they share a record label with), and more interestingly the subject of too many grey jumpers from C&A dominating pop music wardrobes at the moment. Craig's own outlandish fashion sense is put down to his "theatricality" and a desire to do things in an interesting manner. Now you can't say fairer than that.
You can watch the video HERE.
Lovecraft's talents don't stop there: no Sirree. They have also penned a song specially for this festive season, which they have described as "miserable-as-sin". If you're looking for some solace in these cold winter months, when only the light of Christmas and the Queen's Speech is keeping you going, this is not the perfect song to cuddle up to. Still, A Slap In The Face In Cold Weather is most certainly worth a listen, so we've included it here for you.
