Day 19 - We caught up with Liverpool lads THE 53's to talk advent calendars, Santa and Christmas dinners...

Bido Lito!: WHO'S ROCKING YOUR ADVENT CALENDAR THIS YEAR? 

Paul: SpongeBob and Patrick but our kid ate all the chocolate the first day I got it.
Jay: Some snide Cadburys one that only goes up to the 24th.
Nige: I’ve got a Peppa Pig one and it says Merry Christmas from Peppa and George and there’s a picture of a big pig with a red hat on and a little pig with a purple hat on and I don’t know who's who.
Mike: I don't have one but I bought me Mum a Thornton’s one.


BL!: WHAT HAVE YOU ASKED SANTA FOR THIS CHRISTMAS? 

Paul: I've asked him to stop getting me socks and provide me with more ale.
Jay: Just a sleeve of Richmond menthol and a crate of special brew would do me.
Nige: I’ll have Paul’s socks if he doesn’t want them. I feel like a champ cracking open a fresh pair of Christmas socks.
Mike: Just loads and loads of new bills because my dog eats them all.

BL!: WHAT'S THE WORST CHRISTMAS PRESENT YOU'VE EVER RECEIVED?

Paul: The worst present I got was a pair of Diadora trainees and the badge was bright yellow.
Jay: My Nan got me a torch and a puncture repair kit for my bike one year that was a bit snide.
Nige: I got a head torch once. I think my auntie thought I was big into Ray Mears and night time exploring and all that, but to be honest that’s not really my scene.
 

BL!: WHAT DO YOU GET EXCITED ABOUT THE MOST WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR CHRISTMAS DINNER?

Paul: Me mum's spuds and wearing a Christmas hat.
Jay: Pigs in blankets. They're like sausage butties but with bacon instead of bread.
Nige: Jay hit the nail on the head there with his answer…well in Jay.


BL!: WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS FILM?

Paul: Mine is Terminator 3…unreal.
Jay: Home Alone because I look like a bit like Marv.
Nige: He does look a bit like Marv.


BL!: WHY SHOULD PEOPLE LISTEN TO THE 53’s?
 
Paul:  Because we’ll make you dance and want to get into all of us, plus the tunes are boss.
Jay: Because we're a gang of top scousers who make belter tunes.
Nige: Because we used to be snide but now we're proper decent.
Mike: Because we're a Liverpool band with a John and a Paul.
